In Sydney the researchers in Australia revealed eight percent of gamers in Australia suffering from the symptoms of gaming addiction. The research team led by Vladan Starcevic from the Department of Psychological Medicine at Sydney’s Nepean Hospital, surveyed nearly 2000 gamers aged 14 and over. From the study found there was 156 participants who have different responses to the questions asked. It was a marker that they have problems.

Another study showed problems in the game a higher level ranged between 8.5% up to 11.9%. Reported by The Age, (2/3/2010), an indicator that a gamer has a problem is if they claim to play in a longer period than planned. This study also revealed that people who spend a lot of time playing games and lost control to stop play, have few friends in their everyday and consume more caffeinated beverages.
